"In the same year as La Iberia, the Orfeo Andaluz began circulation in Seville beginning on September 6. Initially a biweekly, it reappeared in 1847 on a weekly basis. Distinguished by an editorial independence of thought, the most significant aspect of this publication is that it was the first published in a city other than Madrid, preceding El Filarmónico, which appeared in Barcelona on September 20, 1845 by three years."
