SENIOR EDITOR


NICOLETTA BETTA studied Modern Literature and the History of Music at the University of Turin with a dissertation on Italian music criticism in the first half of the twentieth century. During her second level Master’s degree she organized public concert seasons held at contemporary art museums. She obtained a two year private scholarship to develop research on musical debates in the early twentieth century Italian press. She is co-author of the volume Il Teatro di Torino di Riccardo Gualino (1925-1930): Studi e documenti (Lucca: LIM, 2013), the first reconstruction of the history of this cultural institution, in addition to several articles on the operatic and symphonic seasons of this theatre, published in music journals and miscellaneous volumes such as Music Criticism 1900-1950, ed. Jordi Ballester and Germán Gan Quesada (Turnhout: Brepols, 2018). She is co-editor (with M. Rizzuti) of the volume Cento Primavere: Ferocità e feracità del Sacre du Printemps (Alessandria: Edizioni dell'Orso, 2014). She  has been a collaborator with the University of Turin’s Department for the Humanities for organization of and scientific contribution to conferences.

In 2006 she began collaboration with RIPM, first as a contributor from Italy, then as Assistant Editor (2013) and Senior Editor (2018). She supervises and edits for the RIPM Retrospective Index. She has given papers at conferences of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives, and Documentation Centres (IAML), and is currently indexing La Rassegna musicale (Turin, 1928-1962), her fourth Italian journal project.
